Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Third
Edition
This third edition of the manual published by the American
Psychiatric Association to set forth diagnostic criteria, descriptions and other
information to guide the diagnosis of mental disorders,
the first to incorporate multiaxial
classification, was
published in 1980, replacing DSM-II. It was replaced in 1987 by DSM-III-R.
