Language formulation involves the ability to generate utterances that are
correct with such things as grammar, word order and vocabulary. For persons who
experience difficulty receiving and/or expressing linguistic information, the
associated stress frequently exacerbates disfluency
in normal speakers and
increased stuttering in stutterers. As utterances become longer and more complex
with respect to syntax, they become more difficult.*
