stuttering: negative reinforcement
An increase in the frequency
of occurrence of a behavior when the behavior is
instrumental in allowing escape from a noxious, unpleasant stimulus. Interrupter
devices and other forms of tense escape behaviors are maintained by
negative reinforcement.*
