stuttering: preparatory set
The anticipatory response to the conditioned stimuli of an anticipated act of stuttering. The covert rehearsal behavior of the stutterer which he uses in getting ready for the difficulty which he anticipates. This procedure is called the pre-block correction by some clinicians.*
