Uttering the different sounds of a syllable with prolonged, slow motion
transitions: moving slowly through the syllable or word. In the slide technique
the stutterer prolongs slightly the initial sound and the transition to the rest
of the word, keeping the
release as smooth and gradual as possible, and
maintaining sound throughout.*
