Within-Word Disfluencies include sound and syllable
repetitions, sound prolongations
and disrhythmic phonations, and
tense pauses.
These are more apt to be perceived as stuttering than between-word
disfluencies such as revisions, phrase repetitions, and interjections
and multisyllable whole-word repetitions.*
