A physician [or other provider] who is in some sense a
generalist, such as a family practitioner, pediatrician, or general internist. While these
physicians deal with the entire person, subspecialist
physicians deal only with single body systems - eyes, bones, or skin - or with specific
diseases - allergies, diabetes, or heart disease.*
