neurotransmitter: serotonin (5HT)
5-hydroxytryptophan (5HTP) is converted by tryptophan hydroxylase (TRYOH) into 5-hydroxy-tryptamine (serotonin).
Serotonin is destroyed by monoamine oxidase (MAO).
