disguise behaviors

In an attempt to avoid stuttering, some stutterers attempt to alter the manner in which they talk in order to hide and disguise or camouflage the stuttering behaviors: e.g., pretending to think, talking between clenched teeth, or talking with a foreign accent, etc.
