(avoidance-reduction therapy, avoidance reduction therapy)

Nonavoidance therapy is also referred to as avoidance-reduction therapy. The goals of this form of therapy are to reduce avoidance tendencies within the stutterer and to increase the approach tendencies in ways which do not increase anxiety or fear.
