Serotonin toxicity resulting from increase in serotonin availability is associated with SSRI's and other drugs affecting serotonin. It is particularly associated with MAOI's interacting with other agents or with compounds found in foods. Symptoms include tremor, motor restlessness, gait disturbance, fever, myoclonus, hyperreflexia, and cardiac arrhythmia. It can progress to coma and death if untreated.
