An adjective adapted from linguistics used to describe a conversation, between two individuals with a common history, in which they covertly refer to shared experiences without explicitly identifying those experiences, so as to mislead a third party listening  to the discussion. In unified psychotherapy the psychotherapist should attend carefully to ways in which patients can use language ambiguously and take care to question patients to obtain accurate understanding.
