ethnomethodology

This term refers to fields of research within the social sciences, the goals of which are to study the relationship between patterns of speech or perception and specific social contexts. These approaches seek to clarify the prerequisites of so-called everyday knowledge. They are concerned with the interrelations between social, linguistic, and epistemological structures within the framework of a hermeneutic sociology (paradigm/model/map, epistemology, semiotics, syntax).
