feedback (Gestalt)
- (a return action), a regulatory reaction in response to a situation. In group therapy, participants are often asked to give a client feedback at the end of a particular piece of work. The aim may be to provide additional information to help the client in question become more fully aware, but feedback is, most often, directed towards the person who give it,encouraging him to express his own feelings, i.e. the personal resonances he experiences in himself as a result of the situation, preparing the way in due course for a piece of work of his own.
