Gestalt psychology or Gestalt theory, or the Theory of Form

-Psychological movement, inspired by phenomenology, dating from 1912 (Ehrenfels, Wertheimer, Koffka, Koehler), which emphasises that 'the whole is more than the sum of all the parts', and is the result of the many interactions of the parts on each other. Brings to light the subjective nature of perception.
