-the application of Gestalt principles in a medium- or long-term residential community setting, lasting from a few days to a few months. the actual therapeutic work alternates with a shared life of work, study or leisure, giving rise to a shared therapeutic experience. In the early days, Perls favoured individual therapy, then group therapy, and ultimately, community therapy (c.f. Cowichan).
