Veronica answers another question from her father, ”Because you're an idiot.” (0:15)

New student Jason "J.D." Dean tells Veronica, referring to the food, "Keeps me sane." (0:17)

Veronica: "Dear diary, I want to kill, and you have to believe it's for more than just selfish reasons..." (0:18)

Another student tells Veronica, "Oh, I know everyone at your high school isn't so uptight." (0:20)

Veronic writes, "God, I sound like... psycho." (0:21)

Veronica tells J.D., "I use my grand IQ to decide what color gloss to wear..." (0:24)

Veronica asks J.D., referring to her friend Heather Chandler, "She skips the Saturday morning trip to Grandma's even when she's not hungover."
J.D.: ”We'll just concoct ourselves a little hangover cure...” (0:24)

J.D. tells Heather Chandler, "Veronica knew you would have a hangover..."
J.D. tells Veronica, ”All right, I'm just a little freaked here.”
”... but if this were like a suicide thing, you know?”
Veronica: ”Like a suicide thing?”
”You might think what I've done is shocking.”
J.D.: ”To me, though, suicide is the natural answer to the myriad of problems life has given me.” (0:27)
