Actor Ralph: ”The man was crazy.”
A falling object strikes Ralph, resulting in a closed head injury.
Director Riggan’s lawyer Jake asks Riggan, “Are you drunk?” (0:05)

Lesley tells actor Mike, referring to Riggan’s daughter and assistant Sam, “I don’t know if it’s the drugs that fried her brain or what.” (0:18)

Jake tells Riggan, “You’re freaking me out.” (0:20)

Laura calls Riggan, “Idiot!” (0:21)

Laura: “He’s been depressed.”
Laura asks Riggan, “For God’s sake, are you getting drunk?”
Riggan: “I don’t have to be drunk to say what I think.”
Mike: “We’re not drunk.”
Laura: “If you’re not drunk, don’t talk like you’re drunk.”
Riggan: “Some drunk kid plowed his old man's pickup right into their camper... The husband, the old man, was depressed for the longest time, even after I said to him, your wife’s gonna pull through, he was still depressed.”
Riggan tells Mike, “You're drunk.”
Mike: “Yes, I'm drunk. I'm supposed to be drunk! Why aren't you drunk?” (0:22)

Riggan tells his ex-wife Sylvia, “It's just been so crazy around here, you know?”
Sylvia, referring to Sam, “She's trying to stay away from everything and everyone that got into rehab in the first place...”
”Do you have any idea how crazy that sounds?”
Riggan: ”Did you know Farrah Fawcett died the exact same day as Michael Jackson? Is that crazy?”
Birdman’s disembodied voice: “Crazy, druggy... daughter...” (0:27)

Mike tells Riggan, “He was... drunk, man.” (0:36)

Riggan, holds a joint. Sam tells him, “That’s pot.”
Riggan lights the joint and tokes. (0:39)

Laura: “In the days before Eddie’s depression started to eat away at him...”
Riggan (as character Eddie) holds a pistol to his head and pulls the trigger. (0:42)

Mike, to himself, “They drive me... crazy.” (0:48)

Mike tells Sam, “I don’t think it’s high enough.” [to kill her if she jumped]
Sam: “Uh, adrenaline. I just got out of rehab. It’s the closest thing I get to a drug.”
MIke: “You went to rehab?” (0:49)

Riggan tells Mike, “You said in the interview your father was drunk like Carver.”
”My father was a mean... drunk.”
He describes abuse by his father.
Mike: “You're a little bit crazy.” (0:56)

Mike tells Sam, “No amount of booze or weed or attitude is going to hide that.” (1:07)

Eddie: “The husband, the old man, was depressed for the longest time, even after I said to him, your wife’s gonna pull through, he was still depressed.” (1:09)

Laura: “In the days before next depression started to eat away at him he had no idea that I was pregnant...” (1:11)

Riggan tells Sam, “I’m not sleeping... at all.”
Sam: “When I was in rehab they made us do this... I think they're trying to remind us that that's all our ego and self-obsession are worth.” (1:18)

Street actor, from Macbeth: “It is a tale told by an idiot...” (1:26)

Birdman tells Riggan, “You get that mongoloid look when you’re hungover, don't you?... Not this talky, depressing...” (1:28)

Theater doorman: “You deaf, idiot?”
Cab driver, referring to Riggan: “He’s... crazy!” (1:33)

Riggan tells Sylvia, “And then I tried to drown myself... I was rolling around like a maniac in the sand, crying.” (1:36)

On stage, Eddie shoots himself in the head. (1:42)

Jake tells Sylvia, “I’m... euphoric.”
Reporter: “Did you intend to shoot yourself?”
Reporter: “Hey, Sam. What did you feel like the night your father tried kill himself?”
Riggan prepares to jump from his hospital window. (1:45)
