Arthur laughs inappropriately. A woman reads the card that Arthur handed to her: “It's a medical condition causing sudden, frequent and uncontrollable laughter that doesn't match how you feel. It can happen in people with a brain injury or certain neurological conditions.” (0:08)

His clown friend Randall tells Arthur, "All the crazy shit out there..." (0:16)

Arthur mimics shooting himself in the head with a pistol, to his neighbor Sophie Dumond. (0:20)

Arthur writes in a notebook, "... part about a mental illness." (0:23)

Psychiatrist Stoner tells Penny, "You also stood by while one of your boyfriends repeatedly abused your adopted son and battered you... severe trauma to his head." (1:14)

Pretending that he is performing on Franklin's show, Arthur pretends to shoot himself with his revolver. (1:24)

Randall tells Arthur, referring to a protest rally, "I hear it's going to be nuts.."
”Yeah, I stopped taking my medication.”
Arthur tells coworker Gary, ”It... crazy, innit?” (1:26)

Murray Franklin’s assistant Gene tells Murray, referring to Arthur, "The audience is gonna go crazy if you put this guy on."
After Murray and Gene have left, Arthur leans back holding the muzzle of his revolver to his chin. (1:35)

Arthur, now introducing himself as Joker, reads a joke from his notebook: "Your son's been hit by a drunk driver."

Joker: ”It's enough to make anyone crazy.”
