”We’re interviewing all the serial killers now in custody for a psycho-behavioral profile.”

Clarice: “Hannibal the Cannibal.”

Psychiatrist Frederick tells Clarice that Hannibal is ”A pure psychopath.” (0:08)

Clarice asks Hannibal, “All that detail just from memory, sir?”
Hannibal: ”Memory, Agent Starling, is what I have instead of a view.”
”I ate his liver with some fava beans and a nice Chianti.”
Hannibal’s neighbor inmate Miggs: “I bit my wrist so I could die.”
Hannibal tells Clarice, “Go seek out Miss Mofet, an old patient of mine.”
”I don’t think Miggs could manage again quite so soon even though he is crazy.” (0:14)

Clarice reviews old newspapers: “Baltimore Psychiatrist Receives Highest Honor” and “Renowned Psychiatrist Charged In Murder” (0:21)

Hannibal tells Clarice, referring to serial killer Buffalo Bill, “His real name is Benjamin Raspail, a former patient of mine...”
”His therapy was going nowhere.”
Clarice: “Raspail was a transvestite?”
Hannibal: “Garden variety manic-depressive.”
”Dr. Chilton does enjoy his petty torments.”
”I’m offering you a psychological profile on Buffalo Bill, based on the case evidence.” (0:28)

Clarice describes the killer to Jack: “He’s never impulsive.” (0:37)

Frederick tells Clarice, “He is my patient.” (0:51)

Hannibal tells Clarice, “There’s no correlation in the literature between transsexualism and violence. Transsexuals are very passive.”
Hannibal: “Billy is not a real transsexual.”
”There are three major centers for transsexual surgery... I wouldn’t be surprised if Billy had applied for sex reassignment at one or all of them and been rejected.”
”Billy hates his own identity you see, and he thinks that makes him a transsexual.” (0:55)

Hannibal restrained in a straight jacket and tied to a hand truck. (1:00, 1:01)

Hannibal tells Sen. Martin, referring to serial killer Louis, “He was referred to me in April or May, 1980, by my patient Benjamin Raspail.” (1:03)

Frederick tells reporters, “Well, it’s only through my own unique insight into Lecter’s mind that this breakthrough was possible.” (1:05)

Victim Catherine tells Clarice, “This guy’s... crazy.” (1:45)

By telephone Hannibal tells Clarice, “I do wish we could chat longer, but I’m having an old friend for dinner.” (1:52)
