Shadowing involves having the stutterer speak while following along closely behind the speaking of another person. The lead speaker provides a model for the stutterer to shadow. For example, the lead speaker might speak using easy onset, smooth coarticulated syllable transitions, light articulatory contacts, voluntary stuttering, or stretched , etc.
