transference (Gestalt)
- in psychoanalysis, the intense affective relationship between the client and the therapist, which to some extent recreates an attitude lived out during childhood: transference neurosis is the main force behind cure. In Gestalt, many spontaneous tranferential phenomena can, of course, be found. These are explored as they occur. The therapist does not artificially develop transference neurosis which creates a dependence on the therapist.
