voice

- work with the voice is essential in Gestalt, where the way in which something is said is as important as what is said. A voice which is stifled, delivered in short bursts or without intonation may be evidence of a state of soul which is different from what the client is expressing verbally, thus providing an often fruitful path for exploration. Assertive self affirmation (genuine self-confidence, without boasting) is used in Gestalt groups.
