mandala (Gestalt glossary)

-Sanskrit word meaning 'circle'. A symbolic drawing (or painting), generally in the form of a circle or square, used by various Eastern philosophies as a meditation aid, in the search for inner truth, C. G. Jung made a particular study of mandalas. The visual, symbolic representation of feelings or situations and various techniques inspired by the mandala are currently used by some Gestaltists.
